This page provides information and resources for local city and other government planners. It also includes links to the local, state, and federal pandemic influenza response plans.

Public Health encourages local city planners and disaster response personnel to develop local pandemic plans. Public Health staff is available to consult during this process and participate in coalition activities.

Local, State, and Federal Plans

Local

  • The County of San Diego Pandemic Influenza Response Plan addresses media communication, mass prevention and treatment (once a vaccine is available), isolation and quarantine, decontamination, and the role of the medical examiner. It addresses critical elements recommended by the World Health Organization and the National Strategy for Pandemic Influenza including preparedness and communication; surveillance and detection; and response and containment. This plan is currently being revised.
